About Bishop Gloria J. Johnson

Bishop Gloria J. Johnson is the Founder and Visionary of Spirit of Excellence Ministry of Deliverance, established in 2005 through divine direction and a steadfast commitment to advancing the Kingdom of God. A woman of prayer, prophetic insight, and unwavering faith, Bishop Johnson has devoted her life to preaching, teaching, and demonstrating the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Her spiritual journey began at an early age, nurtured by her maternal grandfather who faithfully took her to church. At thirteen years old, she publicly dedicated her life to Christ at Saints Matthews Baptist Church in Bishopville, Maryland, under the leadership of Elder Michell.

At the age of sixteen, Bishop Johnson began attending Thessalonia Baptist Church, Inc., under the leadership of Pastor Hazel J. Purnell. It was there that her call to ministry was further cultivated and affirmed, and she was later licensed as a minister. This season helped shape her foundation in sound doctrine, discipline, and faithful service.

Her leadership development continued through years of dedicated service. Bishop Johnson faithfully served for nine years as Assistant Pastor of Believers Faith Healing & Deliverance Ministry, under the leadership of Apostle Thomas Sturgis. Her ministry journey also includes seven years as a Minister and New Converts Teacher at Pilgrims Ministry of Deliverance, under Apostle Ivory L. Hopkins, where she helped establish strong spiritual foundations in the lives of new believers and seasoned saints alike.

With a mandate rooted in Isaiah 61:1–3, Bishop Johnson carries a burden to preach good tidings to the meek, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and declare the acceptable year of the Lord. Her ministry is marked by excellence, integrity, compassion, and an unwavering belief that God still heals, delivers, restores, and empowers.

Bishop Gloria J. Johnson has been joyfully married to Pastor Ronnie M. Johnson since May 29, 1976. Together, they are the proud parents of six children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. United in vision and purpose, they continue to build a ministry that reflects both the heart of a shepherd and the authority of Kingdom leadership.

About Pastor Ronnie M. Johnson

Pastor Ronnie M. Johnson was ordained as Pastor in 2006 at Spirit of Excellence Ministry of Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop Gloria J. Johnson. A faithful servant and pillar within the ministry, Pastor Ronnie leads with humility, wisdom, and a steadfast commitment to the work of the Lord.

Raised in the church from the age of six, Pastor Ronnie’s spiritual foundation was established early in life. In 1981, he dedicated his life to Christ at Thessalonia Baptist Church, Inc., under the leadership of Pastor Hazel J. Purnell, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. His heart for service and discipline in ministry were evident even then.

In 1993, Pastor Ronnie rededicated his life to Christ at Believers Faith Healing & Deliverance Ministry, under Apostle Thomas Sturgis. There, he served as a devoted Sunday School Teacher, diligently instructing believers in the Word of God. During his time at Believers Faith, he answered the call to greater leadership and was ordained as an Elder in 1997, serving faithfully in that role until 2005.

Pastor Ronnie is truly a servant-leader in every sense of the word. He carries both spiritual and practical responsibility within the ministry. From preaching and teaching the Word with clarity and conviction, to ensuring the physical upkeep of the house of God through building maintenance, repairs, plumbing, electrical work, and landscaping — he embodies Nehemiah 4:6: “So built we the wall… for the people had a mind to work.”

His life reflects a deep commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom not only in word, but in action. Pastor Ronnie has a strong mandate to teach believers how to apply their faith daily — not just to hear the Word, but to live it. He believes that faith must be demonstrated through obedience, integrity, stewardship, and consistent spiritual growth.

With a shepherd’s heart and a builder’s hands, Pastor Ronnie remains dedicated to strengthening the body of Christ, equipping believers to walk in maturity, and ensuring that the house of the Lord operates in excellence.
